Hello, we're looking for some input on subdivisions in Wake Forest. We're looking to buy our first home, and would be open to building.

We are looking for:

3,000+ sq ft
4-5 bedrooms (need a guest or master on the main floor)
Open floor plan/layout
Around $350,000

We've looked at Northampton, Bishops Grant, Bowling Green.

Has anyone recently built in these subdivisions? If so, what was your experience? Any other suggestions for subdivisions in Wake Forest- Wake County?

For new construction, in that price range, you have hit the highlights! For something in the 350-375 range, you could look at majestic oaks, and parts of heritage, and possibly hillcrest farm.

The youtube site will have a link to that specific video (www.youtube.com/xxxxxxxxxxxx where xxxxxxxx is that specific video). Just post it that link and it will be recognized as a video.

Reynolds Mill is the newer subdivision that’s adjacent to my community, Pemberley. While there are some nice houses in that area a potential buyer should also be aware that the builder has filed for bankruptcy protection in the past.

About living in Wake Forest, anyone considering moving here should really do their homework first. Yes the town is lovely with plenty of southern charm but it’s also further away from the Research Triangle than say; Cary, Morrisville and Apex. For that reason some people who prefer to reside close to their work end up leaving WF and moving to the western part of Raleigh.

My wife and I absolutely love Wake Forest and would sell our house here only to downsize to a one-level home but we’d still want to live in or near beautiful WF. The suburban feel suits our sensibilities perfectly having relocated here from Crofton, Maryland.

On a more philosophical note; don’t move to North Carolina if you think it will allow you to continue to live a “middle class” lifestyle that’s no longer affordable where you currently live. As has been discussed several times on this message board the dynamics of Wake County are about the same as most areas around the US, and if you’re struggling financially there you’ll probably do likewise here.
