Hi everyone and happy new year. I was wondering if fireworks were illegal in nc. I didn't see any tents at all. In Florida there is a tent in every corner. Thanks.

Yes, the "fun" fireworks are illegal here. You can buy sparklers and a few lame kinds of fireworks that basically just shoot sparks or make noise, but not the ones that shoot high in the air. You'll find tents around July 4, for those kinds of f-works, but generally, SC makes a lot of money from NC residents on Fireworks.

Someone over in the Del Webb neighborhood near Amberly was firing off the real deal last night at 1am. It was incredibly annoying and I can't believe it was coming from the 'old people' part of the neighborhood. I hope someone called the cops because my wife wouldn't let me go over there to take care of it myself.

FFireworks yes the stupid people need to annoy others at 1am. It should be illegal like they just passed in Hawaii. HHeck during the July 4th time usually its so dry around here that fires get started in the woods when the morons shoot off the stuff. Little boys need to make noise. Sorry state that those little boys are in their 30s 490s or even 50s.

I enjoy fireworks myself, but I think they should be allowed only at special events for large crowds by qualified people only.....with the exception of maybe kids having a little fun with sparklers(supervised of course) Somebody close to us started their home fireworks show at 1:30 am the other morning.....not cool! Our Boston's hate fireworks. They just hate'em
