I wish we were all like RedHat, the taxes we pay in NC are growing substantially every year from one of the highest income taxes to highest sales taxes. If I were RedHat or any other large business I would be looking to move, the way NC spends it's tax dollars are none of their concern and the fact that NC can't keep their spending in check isn't their problem.

I am of two minds regarding the incretives game. It really should not be done at all, but as long as other places do it, unfortunately we have to do it to compete. I do have firsthand knowledge of one other situation a few years ago where a company with operations here had already decided to expand by taking over some buildings on RTP, then a couple of months later acted as if they might go elsewhere unless they got incentive money. Definitely not what that tax money should be used for.
