Whats the cheapest place to get a set of tires for my pick-up? Its a 99' F-150, 17 inch rims. I'm looking for some that have an aggressive all terrain tread that wont roar. Also whats a good kind to get good-wrench, mickey Thompsons? Thanks

COSTCO is always the cheapest place. It makes the annual membership more than worth it.

Costco membership is $50/year for the basic. That gets you everything you need.

You might want to call around to a few places like NTB, Discount Tire, etc. I can only use Firestone, so I'm not much help when it comes to brand

Tirerack.com - best prices, place the order over the phone, have them delivered to a local tire shop for installation.

Tirerack fan here too. At least look at their tests, reviews and prices so you can make an informed choice.
They do have a number of local installers that simplifies the process.

+1 for tire rack. Hard to beat their prices as it's just about wholesale to the public. They'll ship right to your door and you can just pay for installation. tons of online reviews as well to help you avoid the wrong tire.

But call in advance to your local stores..... colony tire, etc. They might give you a deal on in stock tires and get you close.
