I want to have a 30th birthday party for a friend at a great restaurant in Raleigh/Durham. Where is a great place for a 30th birthday party? Also, what makes a GREAT 30th birthday present for the birthday girl?

What type of atmosphere? How many people?

I am thinking about doing my birthday at Sparians this year. I haven't been yet so it depends on how I like it.

There are a lot of places that come to mind, but can you provide any more info.

The size of the group matters. If you want a fun place for 20 or so, I'd check out Revolution. They have a whole downstairs area that you can reserve if you give them enough notice. Vin Rouge also has a nice little spot in the back, and their food is delicious (much better price for the quality).

If it is a much smaller group (say 6 or so), then I'd recommend some different places. The size of the group matters.
