Exclamation IT work in Raleigh

I am contemplating moving to the Raleigh area and would like some info on how good the job market is for Systems Administrators and Desktop Support jobs. Also, I currently work in the local school district and would like to continue working in public education doing IT work. Anyone know if there are any school districts hiring?

My son's in support in Harrisburg, PA with an associate's degree. He's been looking to relocate here to do government desktop or help desk work.

Despite 3 years solid experience including management level work, nothing yet. He doesn't want to just come home and go back to retail until a job pops up since he's doing well in PA.

Many folks are trying to relocate here.

You can search on my name for my thoughts but think about this:

If there is alot more land than there are jobs and tons of people are moving here, its just a matter of time before there are many more applicants than there are jobs. right now its OK but I wouldnt move here for a job alone. I see no big difference between here and N/ NJ in terms of open jobs except lower pay.

I noticed an opening (been searching for teaching jobs) at Ravenscroft, a private school in Raleigh for a help desk analyst. I don't know if that is something you are looking for.
