Ridgemont in Morrisville - Thoughts on this neighborhood
Hello Everyone:
Does anyone live in this neighborhood, have lived, or know anything about this section of Morrisville?
I did a search and only found out that this development doesn't have a community pool, which is not a big deal for me and also some very happy people that love their M/I home. I could not find any information on the actual neighborhood and surrounding neighborhoods? Like, how is the area, any crime {did crime mapper and nothing came up, that's a good sign} just overall general information about this area.
Any information will be appreciated.
Also, is Morrisville-Carpenter Road a busy road near this neighborhood?
Thanks in advance for your help.

It is a great location and as you mentioned built by M/I homes and good schools.
But they are older and not sure how many homes are updated if that is any concern?
Morrisville-Carpenter does get busy during rush hour and also many cars drive through the neighborhood to avoid backups on the main roads.

It is hard to turn out of any of the neighborhoods on that road (Ridgemont, Savannah, Carpenter Park). Especially if you're making a left.

There is no crime to speak of in that area and the police and fire stations are right around the corner on town hall dr. And the schools are top notch.
Its a great location as there is a lot of new and future development going in that area - Grace park is walking distance and has a lot of restaurants and more coming. Towards 54 and between Town Hall Dr and Church St. the town of Morrisville is building a downtown core area that is supposed to have historic structures moved in from around the area with small shops, restaurants and some night life. Eventually the tracks over Morr-Carp Rd will be raised, alleviating the traffic and they will carry the future regional light rail and a station is going in at Mcrimmon pkwy, so another plus for future property values.
Right now traffic may be your main concern, it is hard to make a left out of there and there are backups at Morr-Carp and 54, and 54 gets backed up in the evening. Also, people cut through the neighborhood to get to town hall dr and church st, although police sometimes sit between the neighborhoods and give out warnings to people cutting through, which has some impact.

Just remembered something else about that area... we pop over there sometimes later in the evenings to grab a hot chocolate from that McDonald's Cafe (we don't eat at McD's at all, but nobody else has hot chocolate at 11pm). We made the mistake of going there a couple of times on the weekends, and there were kids walking across Morrisville-Carpenter (I assume they were from Grace Park) and basically hanging out talking to the other cars IN THE LINE while we waited to get to the window and pay for our drinks.
Looked like little hoodlums to me, and I'm VERY open minded.
Soo... may be low crime now... may not be in the near future.
Seriously, though... I'm sure it's fine. "High crime" in Cary/Morrisville terms means very little, as that'd be like, two tire slashings a year instead of one.

Seriously? I really hope that you are teasing.
To the OP, we rented a home in Savannah while house hunting and were very happy in Morrisville. Very convenient, quiet and safe. The ONLY crime that I am aware of was the typical break-ins of unlocked cars.
I know Savannah has left-turning lanes, so that was not too big of a hassle. I imagine that Ridgemont does too. I can see that cutting-through might be an issue.
One thing that we really enjoyed was heading out the door and walking over to the Morrisville Community Park.
Grace Park is a nice shopping center with apartments and town homes mixed in.
I think that meh_whatever is exaggerating. Many of my teenaged neighbors here in Cary look like "hoodlums" despite being from "good families."
Another poster (I believe) annesg lives in Savannah. Try pm'ing her with specifics.

I'm kidding. Sorry if I didn't make that clear. They did indeed look like thugs. I dunno why nice kids wanna go looking like hoods.
The main thing that worried me was that they were stepping in front of cars in the drive thru lanes and walking across M/C Road in black clothes after 11pm.
Ack!

It's a nice area...my only concerns which may be unfounded is airplane noise (in flight path) and not sure if the train still runs behind the Fire Station. Oh and traffic on Morrisville Carpenter as those folks mentioned already. And I would prefer quicker access to major highways.

We noticed while living in Savannah that the air traffic mostly stayed to the West and North West over developments such as Carpenter Village and Twin Lakes (which is somehow technically in Cary). So, we were not bothered by noise, but maybe our threshold is different than yours.
The train is still there and on rainy days (wave propagation) we would hear the whistle, but I don't recall ever being woken up.
Definitely the thing I miss most about that part of Morrisville is being able to actually walk to parks, stores, etc. The DQ there is AWESOME!
