On Saturday I made a trip out to Johnny's (http://www.johnnyscarrboro.com/site/ - broken link) in Carrboro to check out the Food Truck Round Up they were hosting to help raise money to benefit Table, an organization that helps feed the hungry. They had a great band playing jazz on the back and seven food trucks circling the building in their parking lot. Johnny's also has a great beer and wine selection so it made for the perfect way to spend a warm Saturday afternoon in February. Here are a few pictures from the event!

They aren't there all the time, though the crepe truck and taco truck show up at Johnny's on certain days of the week. The other trucks can be found at various location in the Triangle on any given day. They best way to track them is by following them on their facebook or twitter pages.

No - is that big where you are from? I'm from NJ and don't think I saw that there either. I don't know how much demand there is since most of these trucks deal with certain niche markets. Interesting idea though.

I know they are very popular in South Florida, and the next time I am down there, I plan to go. I didn't realize there was something like that in my neighborhood. I hope the trend continues. Seems like fun.

You think they'll be open for the President's Day holiday? I don't get much time and it seems like the perfect time to check some of these food trucks out!

JQ,

The trucks aren't there every day. This was a special event. You can find the trucks all over the Triangle on a given day. They best way to find them is through their facebook and twitter updates. I've posted their info below in case you want to find out where they will be in the future.

There's actually something closer to 40 food trucks in the Triangle right now. Here are some more (off the top of my head):

@KoKyuBBQ
@Klausiespizza
@MamaJeansBBQ
@BlueSkyDiningNC
@DaisyCakesNC
@DonsClassicIces
@NCBulkogi
@FarmhandFoods
@IndianFoodTruck

There's a lot more, that's just what twitter feeds I remember right now.
