Our Toyota Solara just made a cross country trip from CA. It needs some brake work. Can anyone recommend an affordable and trustworthy mechanic in the area?

I take mine to Wasp Automotive.

They are very honest, very reasonable. The waiting area isn't too bad either. I wish it were a little neater in the shop area, but they do good work.

Brakes Plus in Raleigh (pretty much Cary).
http://www.brakesplusnc.com/

They are great! I take both my cars there (one is American, the other a Honda). They are very honest and always answer any questions I have very thoroughly (I never feel rushed). And their prices are good. Oh, plus they are very nice... haha - the list goes on and on!

New here and have already had both cars (Toyota's) serviced by Phil's Toy Store in Cary. VERY nice people, came highly recommended by a neighbor. We'll be going back. They know their stuff.

Just used Choice Auto's last week - based on a recommendation on this board. Specialize in Japanese cars - mines a Nissan which appears to be their most common

Highly recommend them

I learned about Tao Auto on here and love them. They know I'm clueless but still take off charges for me when they have to be doing x to do y anyways, which means a lot since I wouldn't know the difference!
