Red face What is the cost of daycare in The Triangle Area?

My wife and I currently pay $2,145 a month for our 2-year-old's daycare at Bright Horizons @ 75 Rockefeller Center, NYC.

It's full-time, snacks included. The teacher to toddler ratios are 5 to 1.

We are moving to North Carolina in 3 months, looking to live in the Triangle Area.

What is the average price for full-time daycare for a 2-3-year-old?

I've emailed several schools but they all say the same thing, "Come in for a tour".

Of course we'll do the tours, but none of them will answer my simply question: "How much does full-time daycare cost per months for a 2-3-year-old?"

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Wow, that's steep in NYC! Partly depends on where in the Triangle you look and of course it can vary by center, but full time care for a 2 yr old with meals included should range about $1000-1200/month. The ratio at a quality center should be the same of 5 to 1.

Thank you!
Well, meals are not included, just two snacks at the NYC daycare.
And yes, it's very steep! More expensive than college!

In the Chapel Hill area prices range from $1100-1500 for toddlers. There are a couple that have 5:1 ratios, but more will be in the 7:1 range.

The Goddard School (which we love, love, love) runs around 1200-1300 for a 2 year old. For our 3 year old we pay 1095. It's definitely steep for this area, and we did not start out in a Goddard School because we didn't want to pay that much - but wow we really notice a difference after switching. Could just be that the other 2 centers we tried were subpar and not representative of most daycares in the area, but we are beyond happy. They provide snacks but not meals.

Oh and I have found that if you call a center and not email them, they will tell you the tuition every time.

We go to Kids r Kids of Morrisville and are very happy with them. Hours of operation are 7:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. and tuition includes educational programs, breakfast, lunch, an afternoon snack, and internet viewing (I can log in and watch my kids at any time). Two year olds are $265 a week and three year olds are $245/week. They are a 5 star school.

There is a place on Ten Ten Road in Holly Springs or Apex that quoted me $55 a day for 6AM-6PM. I forget the name but it is on the corner of Holly Springs Rd and 1010.

I have heard great things about Goddard and Primrose. They were too steep for me since I have twins so I have a nanny and they go to P/T preschool whihc is very reasonable
