I have heard a restaurant in Chapel Hill is closing April 1st. Which one? I know Bonne Soiree's is closing end of April. Do I just have date confusion? The April 1st was also for a high end place.

I wasn't that impressed with Bonne Soiree when I tried it. Any idea why it's closing? Not enough customers, owner wants to retire, etc?

in a nutshell, the landlords raised the rent. also, the owners acknowledge that there aren't enough people in this economy that can afford to eat there.

you can read the story in last week's Independent.

Aw, that's too bad. Before my husband got sick, we enjoyed Bonne Soiree.
