This may be a silly question, but can you drill your own well, or do you have to use their services? We have our own well and love it. Just curious.

Afaik, you can drill your own well, although there may be some restrictions on tapping into Aqua water sources in use.

Seeing as Aqua has been depleting aquifers of private well owners, that would be pretty rich.

I am in a neighborhood that has a community well, unfortunately. Aqua runs that (plus we have a private sewer system). Those are common in developments that our outside City Limts. However, we are in the Raleigh Extraterritorial Jurisdiction

Believe me it does no good to go to these meetings they have, they will get the increase no matter how many people show up and what they say. Check your bill. They got it.

We have AQUA water here north of Raleigh.....I live close to where the neighborhood had their wells dry up supposedly because of AQUA'S well. I hate dealing with AQUA...and plan on installing my own well in the near future.

Has anyone heard anything about the raleigh neighborhood where the weels dried up because of Aqua?

I did find this article and someone mentioned an update in the comments:

Also, it is very expensive to drill your own well after all the costs and you then need to get good filtering installed.
