And to prove it still happens via LAN (instead of WiFi):

It might be the web application though.. because I did this command line and I look fine....

-- pingtest.net ping statistics ---
126 packets transmitted, 126 packets received, 0.0% packet loss
round-trip min/avg/max/stddev = 104.469/109.815/129.990/4.782 ms

Good info, NG2, thanks. Your results mirror mine on the web test and I did a quick command line test and got

Ping statistics for 216.240.172.161:
Packets: Sent = 250, Received = 250, Lost = 0 (0% loss),
Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
Minimum = 70ms, Maximum = 175ms, Average = 76ms

I'm online chatting with TWC, and both Roadrunner Extreme and wideband services are apparently available in my area (Chapel Hill), so I'm attempting to sign up for Extreme. (I'm jonesing for the faster upload speed, not so much the download speed.)

I just got upgraded to 30/5 service. The modem comes in router/wifi mode. If you are tech savvy like me make sure you get the tech that comes out to call in to get it set to bridge mode.

I'm sad U-Verse still isn't available at my apt. I did get to renegotiate my rate yesterday with TWC. $124 including tax for HD DVR, second room HD, and 10/whatever internet.

I have to believe it is the settings on the new wideband modems that is causing this. I am on the Verizon MiFi and seeing zero packet loss.... (I use it exclusively while traveling).

I am going to get home and play around with the router. If you make any headway let me know RDUBiker..
