Does Costco typically locate near a Sams or BJs or prefer to stay away from them? I have noticed some clearing activity beside the Walmart/Sam's club in Morrisville but that could also be just putting a road in for eventual office park there.
I've never been to a Costco and would like to visit one before committing to the membership--anyone know if Costco will let you come in and browse first? We only had Sam's at our last home, and I've yet to renew my membership here because I wanted to check around since there's more choices here. I've tried the free 60-day pass at BJ's and wasn't overly impressed.

Thanks.
I'd think they would let you in. I think you will be pleased though, Costco is better quality than Sam's, and better prices than BJs
Costco will let you in on a tour. You have to sign in at the front desk first.
I checked the Morrisville planning Dept site and the new work near the Walmart is for two 1.3 ish acre lots so definitely not Costco. More like fast food I'd guess.
At one time it was rumored that a Costco would be built across Rte 64 from Beaver Creek Commons. With 540 actually being built, that location would be pretty ideal.
For what it's worth, I was chatting with one of the Raleigh Costco employees last week and she told me the "big boss" is deciding between 2 locations in Cary - one near Cary Towne Blvd/I-40 and one near Cary Pkwy/Rt.1
