For the people that think Raleigh is generally a dirty city strewn with litter really need to get out and see the rest of the states. If anything, I would say Raleigh is a cleaner city than most.

It's sad but there are a lot of cities that have way more trash than Raleigh.

Kidding aside...I'll agree that Raleigh is cleaner than many of the states I have visited. However, Raleigh is dirtier than it has been in previous years.

We used to win awards for how beautiful the highways and surrounding areas were so it is a disappointment now in regards to how much litter has begun to appear.

No money, no landscaping. See Thread about the cancellation of Raleigh Wide Open this year. It's the same problem.

We are addicted to tax cuts and are just now seeing the effects of thinking that everything can be fixed on the demand side while ignoring the supply side of the financial equation. We hear all about wreckless spending but nobody wants to really talk about wreckless tax cuts for the rich. We are not going to solve our problems on one side of the equation. Yes, we can do better with our spending. I get that. But, we can't solve everything with just cuts and cuts and cuts.
