wendell?
I have a friend moving to the area. She asked me about Wendell. I realized I really don't know much about the area. Her real estate agent told her that it is the "next hot area". What do you know about the schools, homes, neighborhoods etc. She would be looking in the mid 300s to low 400s. I'm sure she and her husband could buy a lot of house out there. Thought I'd throw it out to more knowledgable people for feedback. Thanks

We just purchased a home in Wendell in a new subdivision going up. It is being built by DR HORTON. I have seen some custom home neighborhoods. Very quiet area but VERY close to shopping, 540 and 440. I also have heard that Wendell is the next HOT SPOT also. Get in early while it is still affordable!

Can't speak of schools but personally I think Wendell is great and agree with the previous poster - very up and coming. Very quaint historic section with beautil homes and many, many new subdivision. I wish your friend luck!

I'd venture to say the next hot area is likely Apex or Holly Springs before Wendell.

Apex and Holly Springs are already HOT! Wendell is that next little town noone knew about until they became Cary, Apex, or Holly Springs.

Historically, schools in the eastern part of Wake County (Knightdale, Wendell, Zebulon) have underperformed compared to their counterparts in the rest of the county. Some say this has to do with the high percentage of students receiving free or reduced lunches. Not sure if that has anything to do with it but that will change with time.
