So my daughter dropped my HP Mini 110 netbook and the LCD screen is toast now. I thought it would be an easy fix as I've read here and other places how I can just buy a screen off ebay and do it myself. As it turns out, my model is a lot trickier than most due to its design. There are hinges and other installation issues. I looked at a video of the closest model and it's still not the same. I even bought the repair manual and I still don't dare mess with it so as not to cause permanent damage.
I've been checking out prices and most are really high which I think is about the value of the machine. I'm talking around $150 to include the screen. Does anyone have a more reasonable recommendation for me to take it in for repair?
honestly...your better off buying a new one....netbooks have high rates malfunctioning outside of normal wear and tear.....you pay 150 now for the screen...it might be 150 down the road for something else...I would just buy a new one or a ipad...
Yeah, I guess I didn't want to face the inevitable, but will have to...
Thanks for that perspective Zippy.
I really love my little Mini. It was my first and a gift from my mom. *Sigh*
