Default Crabtree Valley Mall construction

Has anyone been out to the Crabtree mall lately? I heard there are some new stores and restaurants opening soon, a new wing and center court and a Belk Men's store? I'm just dying to get out there, maybe this weekend?? How is the work coming?

The Belk Men's store is open (and it's very nice) and the new section (Center Court South) just opened last week. There is a new-new phase for restaurants and aditional parking planned for October 2007. More details here CVM Expansion Plans Announced (broken link)

I know this is old but they have named the 3 new restaurants that will be at Crabtree mall. They will be McCormick & Schmick's Seafood Restaurant, Brio Tuscan Grille, and Fleming's Prime Steakhouse and Wine Bar. They will all be opened by Fall 2008! Can't wait for some more yummy Italian personally

Worst mall in the area.

Lousy customer service. Awful parking.

Many better places to shop than Crabtree.

Parking is only bad during the holidays. Any other time of the year, go around back and stay away from the front and you won't have a prolbem, IMO.

I agree. And even during holiday season, the parking isn't too bad once you learn where to go. Still not as good as Triangle Town Center, but better than Southpoint.

For Crabtree, drive up Creedmoor Rd. or Blue Ridge Rd. past the mall to Crabtree Valley Ave. Turn on Edwards Mill Rd. and take the first right. You will then enter on the 2nd level behind Crabtree. You can park near the new men's Hudson Belk store, or drive under the covered parking area. The part near the food court fills up, but just drive down by that and park near Macy's. Either way, you will be very close.

Years ago, management hired a crew of traffic directors to help in the holiday periods. These were dropped.

Several of their private police were implicated in issues including theft from parked cars and indecent liberties (off duty).

The mall management had such a history of racism that several African-American groups picketed in the early 1990's. The mall management had the unmitigated gall to write Capital Area Transit, a city agency, asking them to drop the bus service that brought "undesirables" to Crabtree. No facts were included to back up the allegation that the "bad" people came to the mall by bus from South Raleigh.

It's a shame people continue to support this type of organization.

I'm sorry, but I love this mall. I've been going since I was a little kid and its the only mall convenient and central to all of Raleigh. It is normally one of the first places to get the newest stores. I also like Southpoint and North Hills, but Triangle Town just doesn't do it for me.

To any native it will always be "the mall".

Some folks love it, but its management falls far short of the mark.
