Does anyone know where I can buy a barrel to ship personal contents to Caribbean? If so, what shipping company? I looked in directory and have not found any as yet. This was something easily found in NY, CT area but so far have not been successful in locating anything close...

Default Did you find a shipping company yet?

Hi

Just want to find out if you found a shipping company. I have the same problem. I moved from New Jersey to Raleigh and now I have no idea how to ship a barrel to the Caribbean.

Is there any info you would like to share with me?

Thanks

K

Ok - I'll ask. Why would you ship stuff in a barrel and not a box?

Because a barrel is sturdier and it holds a LOT more stuff.

It's more pirate-y to send it in a barrel .

I'm originally from the Caribbean and never heard of this. Even asked my mom and she didn't know either.
Well I learned something new today.

I thought I was alone with the barrel suituation. I need to ship a barrell to St. Lucia from Charlotte area and can't seem to find anyone who knows of a shipping agency who does that. I just moved from Virginia and had no problem shipping my barrells.
There is a guy name Mike, who apperently is an authorised agent for a company in Atlanta; he's tel.# is 336 451 4561. The cost of shipping a barrell to St. Lucia is $150. but I am not sure if the price is the same for the other islands. The Atlanta based shipping company tel.#: is 770 469 6688.
I have not tried them yet, so I don't know how reliable they are, I was hoping to find one locally in Charlotte area.
