The heat index is going to be 109 degrees the next two days and again over the weekend. This is very dangerous for people not accustomed to it or with health issues. It's also a concern for your pets.
It's tooooo soon for this heat! I was at the Smithfield Outlet today and some kook left their dog in the car with the windows barely open. The dog was barking it's brains out. I tried to find a cop, but there were none.... Unbelieveable!
Moving to the Raleigh area in a month...from Las Vegas! I knew the East coast and Carolinas got warm, but didn't realize it started this early. Vegas will be mild compared to those temps. However, I won't miss the 115 degrees and dry heat in July and August. Looking forward to my new home.

Shame on them. Poor doggie. Never underestimate the stupidity of people.
I would have called their license plate into the cops and left them a note on their windshild. (kudos, though, for at least trying to find a cop.)
We had the lowest electric bill on record last month - $55. A/C stayed off the entire month. I'm dreading this month. It really has started early, glad we doubled our insulation at the end of last year.
I know it's an old saw, but it's not the heat, it's the humidity. I grew up in Florida, but I have never experienced the kind of sheer swampiness to be had in North Carolina in the summertime. It's in the mid-80s right now in West Palm Beach, where I grew up. Here in Wake Forest, it's the mid-90s, and it's just gonna get worse. I did not sign up for this, as much as I recall. Come on, November.
