Thanks for these awesome tips people!

For those of you who know what this is all about, if you see a trombone player wearing a cowboy hat tomorrow feel free to say hi!

Our band is also playing at the after part at Fullsteam later that night. I think we go on at 10pm after a Klezmer band.

I thought that might be the case. When Fullsteam first started their marketing, they seemed to have that "steampunk" theme going on. Not so much anymore though.

Here are some cool ones!

steampunk brass goggles

The 2011 Beaver Queen Pageant is tomorrow. It's theme this year is StreamPunk.

Come check it out. Pre-show is at 4, and the pageant starts at 5, and it will be held in the Duke Park meadow in Downtown Durham. It's a great family-friendly event that raises money for the Ellerbe Creek Watershed Association.

Not soon enough for this weekend, but etsy.com is overloaded with steampunk stuff. Although I guess you could search local. (Steampunk = I don't get it)

You might try giving Emma over at Davenport and Winkleperry in Pittsboro a call. She owns and runs the store, which is dedicated to all things Steampunk. She store is very cool, and even has a coffee and tea bar in the back.

Hey NRG. Did you ever find any steampunk goggles? My son is having a Halloween party and he wants it to be a Dr. Dreadful Zombie Lab theme. I was thinking of dressing up something like this:

Mad Scientist Deluxe - Adult Costume 60193

And to those that say "Why don't you just order that costume?". . . I did some research and the costume looks NOTHING like the picture. Really cheap and disappointing.

I saw steampunk goggles for sale in the Halloween store inside Crabtree so I would assume other Halloween stores in the area also have them.
