Default We're taking a day trip to Wilmington, Sunset, please advice

The hubby and I/me are driving out to the Wilmington area on Wednesday and just wanted to get some imput. I've actually done a full Ironman through Wilmington so I know about the Battleship (where we finished) and the downtown (where we ran) but I was hoping to get some more suggestions of what we can do.
We're then driving over to Sunset Beach to check it out . .

Thanks Forumites!

My absolute favorite place to be besides Riverwalk, "River Court Park," and The Cotton Exchange is Airlie Gardens. We also do a fair bit of bumming around the Airlie Road area where the Dockside and other restaurants are located. For a neat little beachy shopping place, we like the Redix store along Causeway Drive. We haven't eaten there (yet!), but I hear that the Causeway Cafe puts together a good breakfast.

Have fun!

If you are going to Sunset Beach, you may want to eat lunch or dinner in Calabash… a cute town about ten minutes away known for it's seafood, but also has some shops and a GREAT ice cream store. Also, if you're there at lunch and not into seafood, I'd highly recommend the Calabash Deli!!

Yes, Calabash Creamery Ice Cream is a MUST when at Sunset. (I assume this is the great ice cream you were referring to)
