Default Used/Cheap Furniture?

We are looking for a used or cheap table w/two chairs, desk, spare bedroom night stands...and well whatever else we think we might need in our new home!

Do you know of anywhere we can get cheap stuff? We have bought at rooms to go but would like to spend a little less. Maybe even used if its in "okay" shape.

Places I've tried are: the NC flea market, craigslist..but where else? We want a bargain!!!!

The cheap Chinese trash at many furniture stores is no improvement over the build-it-yourself stuff at Walmart.

Also, try Craigslist for older furniture in good shape.

We once picked up 4 rock maple dining chairs at our church yardsale for $10.00 total. All they needed was cleaning and polishing. Even had brass nameplates proudly mentioning the US manufacturer.

Anything good now costs a bunch.

Especially avoid Jennifer Sofas. Horrible experience on consumer complaint sites.

I was also going to recommend Craigslist. You can stumble upon some amazing finds but you have to be quick (and diligent).

On the Jennifer Convertible....I 2nd, 3rd and 4th that. YEARS ago we had the worst experience EVER with them

I'd NEVER buy from them again. EVER.

The Furniture Exchange on Capital Blvd. Just past I-540 take left at light then right onto service road. They are on the left. Check in from time to time as they get some really great deals!

Hee! Me too. A couple years ago, I found a truly HUGE deal at a thrift store in Smithfield. I managed to outfit my living room -and- dining area with furniture for a little over $400. I was stoked...

I'm a big fan of Hoy Auction. Hoy Auction Co . It's a very entertaining show even if you don't buy.
