Default Durham Bulls Parking

I would appreciate any advice regarding the best parking options for tonight's Bulls game.

Please include a good, quick in and out strategy if you can.

Thanks.

We usually park on one of the side streets a couple of blocks from the stadium. I hate parking in the garages at American Tobacco during games, because it can take a while to get out after the games. I actually enjoy parking a few blocks away and enjoying the walk over! If you arrive a little early (perfect timing for a snack at Tyler's before the game!) you can usually get a free parking spot pretty close on Dillard or Pettigrew Streets.

Coming from Raleigh we typically take NC147 exit 12C (Duke St).

Park on Willard or Jackson facing away from the ballpark for easy access back to NC147. Avoid the parking decks as they do back up a bit.

We went last night and parked in the North deck - it was free and had no trouble getting out but we left a bit before the end of the 8th since the Bulls were ahead so much.

We always park in the surface lot across from the bus terminal--entrances on Jackson St and on Willard St. It's free. never have a problem getting in or out.

We park in a paved lot across from the car dealership. It's literally a straight, 5 minute walk to the entrance of the ballpark and a ridiculously easy out as long as you go left out of the paved lot (which we do to get back to 147). It's $3.

Before I lived within walking distance of the DBAP, I would do the following:

Coming into downtown on NC 147, take Exit 12C (Duke St.), then make a right onto Chapel Hill St. After passing under the railroad bridge, bear right onto the Downtown Loop (Ramseur St.). There is free on-street parking on the left side of Ramseur between Chapel Hill St. and Corcoran St., and there is a city-owned deck at the corner of Ramseur and Corcoran. From there, it's an easy walk to the ballpark straight down Corcoran/Blackwell St. After the game, you continue down Ramseur and make a right on Mangum by the DPAC, and you're back on NC 147 in no time.

This is my recommendation as well, but get off at Chapel Hill Street exit and make a left off the ramp onto Chapel Hill St. if you're coming from the opposite direction on 147 - there is no Duke Street exit from Southbound NC 147. I always find parking on Ramseur both for DPAC events and Bulls games.

I highly recommend the car dealership (I'm blanking on the name) across the street (S. Magnum st) from right field - they have a number of spots in their lot next to the showroom with signs that they are free the evening of a game. I felt very safe and it was easy on/off the expressway there.

Ditto. The best place to park. The City-owned deck now charges $2 on game nights, IIRC.

(Of course I hate to give up this good secret, which also works for DPAC events. On the other hand, I'm now in walking distance of the park too!)
