Hello, I am a teacher who will be relocating from NYC to Raleigh NC. I am 27 years old and have NO kids. I was already offered a teaching position in the Wake County public school system. I just wanted to know what part of Raleigh is quiet, clean, diverse, beautiful and has reasonably priced homes or nice apartments. I would like to stay away from HIGH crime areas. I would prefer a nice development/subdivision. I need information as soon as possible so I can start visiting and setting up appointments for viewing. I must be down there by the first week of August. Please help with constructive suggestions.

Thank You!!

At which school will you be teaching? I wouldn't want a long commute.

Definitely look close to where you will work. It can take quite a long time to commute even short distances in Wake Count.

I will DM you with some suggestions for apartment mappers that will help.

There are many great apartment communities in Raleigh but you need to know which school you will be working in to better determine which part of town you should live in.

There are 2 apartment complexes walking distance to the school but I don't recommend those. Some that are nearby and decent complexes are:

Quail Ridge
Hunting Ridge
Montecito Apartments
Northridge Crossings

These are only a few but hope it helps.

Yeah, avoid the clusters of apartments near New Hope Rd or Green Road, which are close to that school. Also, generally you want to stay west of Capital Blvd. The subdivision of Brentwood has a lot of houses for rent, too, which might be an option other than apartments. We have a poster here who lives in Brentwood, so I'm sure she can steer you to what's in that part of town.
