I agree with this. I went to a wedding show where there were several vendors with cake samples and taste-wise, Edible Art was my least favorite.
I LOVE pretty much everything that comes from the Whole Foods bakery. A guy in the WF bakery told me one time they are not allowed to use anything even close to a preservative. Thats probably why they taste so good.

i'm sorry to hear some people dislike the cakes at edible art. i'm wondering if they were fondant cakes? if so, my personal opinion is that fondant cakes aren't great, period. fondant is just too gummy for my taste. but i've had edible art cakes at wedding receptions, bridal/baby showers, & holiday parties & always (with the exception of one with fondant) found them truly tasty.

but i also recommended whole foods & hayes barton because they are just as good, although i think edible art does more with theme cakes then the other two. at least in my experience.

I am more interested in taste and price than theme. I just want to have the "wedding cake" doesn't need to be too fancy. That certainly is not this wedding, just being to celebrate with family is more important.

Well I received a response to my email from edible art, $165 for a cake for 25 people is more than I am willing to spend. Next on the list is Whole Foods.

Smile We are finally wed

I want to thank you all for the suggestions in planning the wedding. I have to say honestly, that your suggestions help me book the ceremony location, the reception and even the cake.

Just a few pictures.

Ceremony was at St. Mark's Chapel - Mordecai Park

Reception at Busy Bee Cafe- The Hive (their private room)

Cake was provided by Whole Foods

In the next few months, I will begin the planning process of relocating to Raleigh for good. Until then, we will be having a bi-coastal (almost) marriage.

You guys did a great job with the flowers on the cake. It looks gorgeous. How was it?

Alison at Whole Foods did everything with the cake. She really worked well with us, especially since the beginning was via email since I was in AZ. Everyone said the cake tasted great! I would highly recommend the bakery located at
Whole Foods Market
3540 Wade Avenue
Raleigh, NC 27607

Woody from the Busy Bee arranged for someone from Busy Bee to pick up the cake for us. It really helped us out. It was one less thing to worry about.

I have to say the reception was great. The only hiccup we had was just before we were leaving. My niece AKA - devil girl pulled the smoke alarm which made the City of Raleigh Fire Department come to the reception. Talk about the terrible twos.
