Has anyone been to a place called "shelton's used furniture" on MOrgan street in downtown Raleigh? It looks pretty cool, I just haven't had a chance to stop by there yet.
ALso, Abigail's Closet on Hillsborough Street near the fairgrounds is a "thrift" that supports ARK of Wake County.

Does anyone know if they will be opening more locations for Plato's closet or Goodwill around Wake Forest. They are both great stores!

I consider a sweater an actual sweater, something made of wool, heavy material, etc. If I bring up a long sleeve shirt, I dont want to pay the price for what they call a "sweater". Especially if I find one in the "shirt" section. They dont stay very consistant with their prices. Don't get me wrong, I love the Goodwill and all but I think someone needs to work on the pricing method.
Its a great cause, I always donate items there but I'm carefully what I shop for when I am in there.

I totally agree ! The household items are very, very overpriced. There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to their pricing, except its too high !
I've bought an item or two from the clothes racks, at least those prices are consistent.
I think we've seen about the last of the smelly, nasty old 33LP records... thank goodness.
I've heard rumors the employees keep a lot of the good stuff for their families and friends...

There's the Guardian Angel Thrift Store on Main St. in Fuquay Varina. It's huge compared to the Goodwill stores. All of the proceeds go to Alzheimer's research. Sometimes the employees seem too busy, but when I thrift shop, I'm not going for the experience, I'm going for the bargains.
