Default Where are the "good" Goodwill and Thrift stores?

I love shopping for a bargain at our local Goodwill. Where can I find the nicest Goodwills or other thrift shops?

Thanks!

Goodwill in this area is called Goodwill Community Foundation, or GCF for short. They have a list of donation centers and stores on their web site. There's a new one under construction in Knightdale, too.

I drive by a thrift shop on Peace Street (near Glenwood) every day, but I've never been inside.

There is one near Strickland Rd. and Six Forks in the Lowes grocery store shopping center. I bring things there all the time. There is also one off Old Wake Forest Rd. Called Classy Raggs, something like that. I know they used to carry high end things. Around again is another they used to be on Capitol in Mini City, but moved somewhere. It is family owned and they also carry a huge line of wedding gowns that they buy from shops closing.

Family Bargain in Smithfield is worth a look too, if you have the time. I've found some amazing bargains in there.

Wow! Such great info so fast! I knew there would be more bargain shoppers out there

I'm moving to Willow Spring at the end of the month. Any good places on the southwest or west side of Raleigh?

There's a lovely, charming place called "Sarah's Cottage", just off the main drag in downtown Wake Forest. It's almost directly across the street from Wake Electric Coop. It's definitely worth a visit!

I've donated and shopped at the GCF in Apex. It's very well organized and clean. It's located across from the Target/ Lowes shopping area.

North Raleigh Ministries at Atlantic & Spring Forest near Tuesday Morning.

Short hours but great stuff. Very worthy cause.

Oh, I almost forgot! Cause for Paws (broken link) - not only a thrift shop, but it benefits animal shelters. Two great things in one! They have three locations.

Its a bit of a drive for you but....

Helping Hand Mission in Cary.
There are "bins" in the back of the store, you get a paper bag and fill it up. I think its $10-15 per bag. We used to roll up the clothes real tight and stack them in there.

We have find some really nice things! My 16 yr old god daughter found a Chanel top and a beautiful Betsy Johnson dress. We always find gap, abercrombie & fitch, limited and alot of designer items.
One bag can fit SEVERAL articles of clothing too!
