I would look at homes around Creedmoor Road, such as Black Horse Run. There are several others out there. Its beautiful in this area.

Clayton area is a great area to live in. If you have horses take a look at Portofino.

If it's not the Triangle, Triad or Charlotte...chances are, it's probably on the rural side.

Agree with everyone's statements, that it get's rural fast. Best thing is that it really doesn't get dumpy or redneck when venturing outside of urban development since the area is very clean, as long as you avoid some out-skirting towns.

Any property around the perimeter of Raleigh/Durham will be a sound investment. That is why I still own rental property in the area,while living in SoCal.
