Does anyone know a good place to scavenge wood pallets? My sons want to build a fort and I want a compost bin. I'm thinking I'd like a total of 10 but I'm happy to gather them one at a time.

I'm on the county line between Orange and Chatham county so I'd rather not drive an hour to get them if I can help it.

Thanks for your help!

Watch for them in the free stuff section on Craigslist. I used to work with a non-profit group and had trouble getting rid of a stack of old pallets we had because no one wanted them.

We've been collecting them from the builders in our subdivision--one bldr even drops them off at our house when he has a couple to get rid of. We're building a 3-compartment compost bin with them. I think we finally have enough. It's further than you want to drive, though....... But, check the new building sites in your area.

Default pallets

i would like to know if you still have the pallet, if so how many? Were they used for shipping chemicals or not? I am looking to pick up on a weekday. Breesvs@yahoo.com

Please check the IPPC on any wooden pallet before using it around anything that could put it within a persons home or around food/gardens. Unless you want to poison yourself.

What is meant by ippc in a wooden pallet?
