Default Returning Used Motor Oil Near Garner, NC

I haven't changed my own oil in my car in years and decided to do it today because I had some other work to do on the car. I thought I heard somewhere that any place that sells motor oil is required to take back the used oil for recycling. I just checked on Walmart's website to what I was supposed to do with it before driving over there to bring the used oil and their website said to take it to a local oil drop. So now my question is, are there oil drops around here, or do the stores take it back?

I don't know about Wal-Mart, but I'm pretty sure Advanced Auto and Autozone take it.

All the car parts places will take it like advance, car quest, and autozone. Walmart probably does too, call?
