Default Opinions: Woodlawn Subdivision +27617 zip

We're looking at a house in the Woodlawn subdivision up in the Leesville school disctrict in NW Raleigh. Would be curious as to any opinions either good or bad. Also on the whole of zip 27617 in general. We really like this area but I'm kind of curious whether there is a lot of airplane sounds from being so close to the airport?

Noise is subjective. For instance, the neighborhood called Harrington Grove does have more airport noise than alot of others. However, people love the friendliness of that neighborhood and the bit of airport noise does not affect prices. There is a phone number you can call and you can give them any address and they will tell you the times to hear the most noise and which way the flight patterns go. My clients love that neighborhood, even though, in the summertime, if you are outdoors, there may be 30 seconds that you cannot talk over a plane. Vicki

The phone number for the airport noise control person is 919-840-2100. They have always been very helpful in the past. Their website is www.rduaircraftnoise.com.

Woodlawn, Harrington Grove, Dominion Park, Breeland Park, Westgate, etc. all sell rather quickly for a few good reasons: Location, Leesville Road Schools, North Raleigh, Shopping, atmosphere of neighborhood, location to airport, etc. Plus...its getting more difficult to find anything in North Raleigh with Leesville Road Schools that is under $300,000. And...I will be putting a new listing into MLS shortly thats going to be priced at $284,000. Vicki

I'll have the paperwork signed by Friday and hope to have it in the computer by Sunday night. She has out of town guests coming so we don't want any showings until then. We expect it will be on the market less than 30 days. I'll send you information Friday night. Vicki

it looks like almost all the homes in woodlawn are right up on the 540,all the ones i see on erinsbrook atleast.
Is the buffer behind these backyards enough to drown out the sound/pollution of the expressway.
Some of these homes look great

Smile Dominion Park

I live in Dominion Park and I LOVE IT! Yes, we do hear the airplanes, but I actually like it. We have great neighbors, excellent schools and are close to 540 and Brier Creek for shopping. The benefits here far outweigh the noise and homes here sell very quickly. PM me if you have any other questions, and good luck in your search!
