Has anyone used whats called "convenience court" here in Wake County? When you cannot make your assigned court date for a traffic ticket, the website says you can show up at a kiosk next to Courtroom 1A between 2-3:30, M-F. Says to be prepared to take responsibility and pay your fine but that you can ask for reduction in points or such? Just wondering if anyone has experience with this. My husband cannot attend court on his date.

What happened is my husband got a ticket for a rolling stop at a stop sign in our subdivision. He actually stopped, just didnt lock the wheels. He has not had a driving incident/ticket in 20yrs. We live in the neighborhood he was ticketed in, have children ourselves and of course don't want drivers running stop signs. Is it possible to have the 3 points dropped? And can that be done with the court personnel that man the Convenience Court kiosk? Any advice is appreciated.

Why don't you just have a lawyer appear for him? I think he'd have much better luck that way. He should be getting tons of letters in the mail soon if he hasn't already. The people I used had me pay them the court costs and fine. Their incentive to get it dropped is they get to keep the fine part (which for mine was only $50). They did get it dropped for me, I was only out $50 for it, and was busy at work while they were in court.

I would consult a lawyer. It may cost more now, but in the long run it will pay for itself.

PS...Stopping is coming to a complete stop. That only happens when the car is not moving. He got ticketed for a rolling stop, because he did not stop. If you decide to go to court dont use that as a defense/excuse, It wont work.

Thx for replies. Have an attorney that will be in court for him and ask for dismissal or PJC.
