Default 2007 Parade of Homes

I will be visiting the Triangle area the weekend of October 5th to 7th and would like to visit some of the Parade homes during my visit. We do not have this type of event in Connecticut so I am wondering how things work...do you buy a ticket to individual tour homes or do you buy a ticket at a certain location that allows you to tour multiple homes? What is the approximate ticket prices? Any information on this event would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!!

Last I went was 2 years ago, but it was free... You just pick up a book of where all of the homes are and you drive around. There is so much to see. Mainly it is all of the builders trying to showcase their work so they can sell more homes. Definitely a fun time!

Does anyone have any comments on the crowds on the weekends of the Parade...also, are the homes open for touring at all during the week as well or just on the weekends??

The crowds for the multi-million dollar homes can get pretty crazy. Some of those will even run shuttles. But we always enjoy at least seeing some of these mansions.

Traffic in the normal homes is heavy, but manageable. And depends on neighborhood and area.

If you are seriously looking, then I'd make sure to go to one of the Friday sessions. These aren't very crowded.

The homes are only open on the weekends, unless they turn out to be a sales center or the like for a given neighborhood. Crowds are manageable for most homes, with the exception being the multi-million-dollar houses. Those tend to have a lot of people who want to see what a 10,000+ sq.ft home looks like. Worth doing once or twice if you have the time.

We lucked out and happened to be visiting to look at new homes during the last weekend of the Parade last year. It was free and we got a book from a realtor that we spent a day with. Our biggest problem when we went out the following day on our own was getting lost constantly. Everything is pretty well marked though with Parade signs on the main roads directing you into each neighborhood. It is definitely worth doing once or twice. It's a nice way to come and go through the models at your own pace without a sales agent.

If the homes are located in a neighborhood with an onsite sales agent than you may visit them during the week

Closer to the time I hope some of you veterans and/or realtors will suggest where to go I'd love to see some of the larger houses especially but wouldn't even know where to look. Have they posted the list for what neighborhoods/houses will be represented yet?

Are you allowed to take photos?
