Yesterday my 6-month-old puppy had a near-death emergency and we gave her CPR and had to take her to the vet; this got me thinking, what are some nice emergency vet clinics that are open on the weekends? I live in western Cary so the closer to there the better.
VSH is good and its on Tryon right near Cary Parkway. Also, theres Animal Emergency Vet of Cary on High House near Old Apex. I have taken two dogs there in the past and they were great. My normal Vet says they are both great.
Also, the NCSU Vet school off Blue Ridge has an emergency service as well.
The vets are all very nice, and their fees aren't bad at all (comparable to my regular vet for tests and such, although the emergency visit fee is $95).

I thought they were referral only? Via a vet? I have gotten redirected to a closer option (Cary's VSH) when I have called.
If vet offices are closed (i.e. evenings, holidays, etc.) then NCSU is open to all without a referral. For procedures, specialist consults, etc. they are referral only. My family has used them multiple times for after-hours emergencies over the years and they have been wonderful to work with, including one time when we were out of the country and our petsitter had to bring one of our kitties in.

a-HA! I thankee for clearing that up. I couldn't understand why I was bounced to a different place. It was early weekday mornings when I called.

I can vouch for this place, they helped me with a loose monster and an unregistered microchip once and the guy at the desk really went the distance to help me find the owner. Got the microchip company name, their parent company's name, the dog breeder's name, etc. Verrrry helpful! All after hours on a Sunday night to boot.
