Default NC Beers

Hello. I'm falling in love with NC beers! Anyone know of a delicious and fun brewery that offers tours...and drinking....and more drinking?

Carolina Brewing is my favorite. Tours every Saturday, great beer, and the sample glasses are pints. Taps are on for a good 45 minutes before the tour, and at least that long after. Very easy to down 4+ pints.

I usually like to do a long bike ride from Sanford to the brewery, and then re-hydrate and replentish my carbs during the tour. Have a friend or family drive up to meet me, throw the bike on the rack, and get a safe ride home. Damn, it's been a while. Maybe I'll see you there soon...

The full list is posted above and I fully recommend visiting all of them. I have done it myself, and I have to say I enjoyed all of them. Big Boss has the best atmosphere (if an indoor rustic neighborhood bar is your cup of tea, I mean your mug of beer), Boylan Bridge Brewpub will give you the best view to enjoy your beer with (plus some good food), Aviator features a very nice modern tap room with a brewery owned BBQ restaurant just across the street in DT FV, Fullsteam in Durham has a great tap room with a food truck or three always parked out in the area, etc... To make a long story short - visit them all and try the beers!

Also, not on this list, but within a 2 hour drive or so:
Carolina Brewery Brewpub & Restaurant- Chapel Hill Pittsboro North Carolina. The Triangle's Best in Dining and Entertainment
The Duck-Rabbit Craft Brewery - Dark Beer Specialist
Mother Earth Brewing
FOOTHILLS BREWING - EST. 2004, WINSTON-SALEM, NC
Front Street Brewery - Restaurant in Wilmington, NC - Kiss Fun Hello!

I wonder if Red Oak Brewery, between Greensboro and Burlington, has tours?? Looks nice from the outside, lots of glass and shiny stainless steel.

They sure do, but the last time I looked into it, they were avbl. Friday afternoons only. Sounded like it would have been fun but it was not a convenient time Someday....

Have they changed their menu. I was there 3 months ago and their pretzels were nothing more than the "Super Pretzel" you get at food lion and heat up in a microwave.

I support the local beer scene, but can't in good faith recommend people go to Boylan Bridge. They have a great view but the beer and food are lacking IMO.
