Can you guys provide any recommendation of places that are open at that hour?

Coming to mind are:
- Waffle house (open 24 hours here?)
- IHOP (are all ihop's 24 hours here?)
- McDonalds (some places are open 24 hours I think - locations?)
- Others????
Where are you?

Raleigh / Durham / Chapel Hill?

Is it open at 3 am? If it is, then I second Gypsy's Shiny Diner! I swear I went once for breakfast, though, and it wasn't open... Yup, it was a Sunday morning. They're open until 4 am on Friday and Saturday night!

Waffle house on Hillsborough Street! I took my kids to Gypsy's and they all hated the food!

Check the hours of the Diner on Glenwood before you go. I don't think it's 24 hours anymore during the week. Same for Gypsy's.

The Diner is open til 3 Monday thru Wed, and then 24 hours all other days. It gets the crazy late night crowd, and the service crowd late night.

I agree it would be more fun than fast food for your kids.

Oops my 21 year old son just told me Gypsy's is not open 24 hours! Apparently on the weekends it closes around 3:00am and weekdays around 11:00. So maybe not a good option

I have yet to find a place that does hash browns better than WH. Scattered and smothered are the best!

And with WH, you sometimes/often get free entertainment via the "interesting" customers or when the waitress and cook start arguing about an order.
