If you ever buy our place, check the attic

We have two screens in upstairs rear windows that we can open. Two downstairs windows open onto the screened porch so they don't need screens. This allows us to ventilate the house fairly well without screens on the front.

As noted, it's a curb appeal thing. Makes outside window washing easier too.

Some builders do not provide them unless you pay extra for them. So it could be a couple of different reasons but it is not unusual not to have them.

My house was screen less when we moved in and they were in the attic.

We removed the screens from our windows since we never open up our windows. We'd love to have fresh air in spring and summer, however, that's also prime alergy season and with the fresh air comes pollen and other particulates that takes weeks to get processed by our home's filters.

we have very few screens in our windows - rest are in the 'hot' part of the attic.

I think currently we have none because we had the house repainted recently and it hasn't been decent weather to have the windows open so we haven't even put the few back in.

I have screens on 4 windows in the back of the house. Those are the only windows that I open and that is infrequent. By the time you get a few days of nice weather in the spring, the pollen comes and gets everywhere in the house.

Fall is my favorite but after a few days of that, the cold comes. I don't like the way the screens look on the front of the house so I don't have any there. It IS much easier to clean the windows and sills without the screens.

The majority of my screens are also in the attic!
