Default Your opinions needed: Charlotte (and suburbs) vs. Raleigh (and suburbs)

Hi everyone! Just looking for some local perspectives on Charlotte vs. Raleigh and the surrounding suburbs for both cities. Please feel free to compare/ contrast all attributes, e.g. cost of living, housing, schools, infrastructure, commute to city, reputation, etc.

Our best friends just moved to Charlotte, we're considering moving too - looking at Raleigh because of job situation and schools. BTW, are the schools MUCH better in Raleigh or are they pretty good in Charlotte too?

THANKS!!
