Default 30-45min city bus "circle" in N. Raleigh/Wake Forest?

My 2.5 year old is fascinated with buses and keeps wanting to take a ride on one. Since I watch her two mornings a week and that's our daddy/daughter fun time, I thought maybe one day I'd find a circular bus route to take her on where we could park the car, ride the bus for a bit, and end up back at the car.

Anyone know of a good option?

She'd love to ride on a school bus but we're a bit too young for that yet

They pretty much all go in a circle.

Just depends on where you want to go...

I recommend picking up the "R" line bus downtown and taking that loop. It is free and also stops at the Raleigh natural history museum, as well as a number of stops near downtown restaurants.

I used to do this every once in a while with my son when he was 3. We'd park in one of the parking decks at the south end of Wilmington St. One of the bus drivers even let him sit in the driver's seat for a few minutes while he was at a stop.

I'm open to any loop as long as it doesn't take too long. She has the attention span of a 2 year old.

I was also going to suggest the R Line. Lots of fun places to stop along the way.

I too suggest the R-Line. Does a great loop around downtown, has great AC, is nice and clean, and I think the buses are electric or use bio-fuel. If you decide to get off the bus along the way to take in the scenery you can always use your smart phone to see where the buses are and catch them at the stop when they loop (usually only have to wait 10-15 minutes between buses).

If you don't want to come downtown to do the R-Line Bus, you could try the Wake Forest --> Raleigh Express Bus (WRX). You could pick it up at the Wake Forest "Park & Ride" spot at White Street and Elm Avenue. Before it gets to Raleigh it stops at Triangle Town Center Mall (near Orvis). The trip takes 20-25 minutes. You can get off at Triangle Town Center wait five minutes and catch the return bus to Wake Forest for another 25 minute trip (50 minutes round trip). Or you can get creative and get off the bus, do something at the Mall for a while then take a later return bus back to Wake Forest.

You can view the schedule at the bottom of this page - Look for the WRX route.

Here's another vote for the Rline. Drive to Glenwood South and park on the street in a free zone near the corner of Boylan Ave. and Tucker Street. Walk one block east to the nearest Rline stop and begin your journey. You can hop off the bus near Marble's Children's Museum and take your daughter there before finishing the loop afterward.

Awesome stuff here, thanks, everyone! I may try multiple times, maybe once R-line and once up here near home. We go to Marbles usually once a week, but she's very interested in the bus, and I'm sure I could probably twist her arm into some ice cream
