Coming off Dish, I used to LOVE being able to see what is on TV by hitting the guide button, and then just clicking on whatever show I want to see. With TWC basic, I am pretty sure they don't have that option. (Right?)

That being the case, what are some of you enterprising folks doing so that you know what is on, so you don't miss your programs, and so that you don't spend the day flipping channels. (other than what I should do, which is turn the thing off and go play outside...)

I check out listings on titantv.com. Also, I think there's also a TV Guide channel you can see listings at as well, although waiting around for your channels to scroll can take a long while.

I've got the cheapo basic cable with TWC - no box and certainly no onscreen guide. Never gave it much of a thought really. There is so much garbage on tv these days I usually only turn on the boob tube when I know the show I watch is on.

FWIW, Their is a TV guide channel (comes in on channel 98 on my set) if you are desperate for a listing!

we TIVO just about everything except the national news and can access that on the web.

We usually program the TIVO once a month based on our PBS magazine. If I want mindless boob tube watching I switch between HGTV, OWN and channel 39.

Do you have a smartphone? They have apps for guides. I use an app. I can scroll thru it with one finger swipe.

If you're the techie type you can do what I do and use your home pc as a tv guide/dvr. All you need is a tv tuner card and windows media center(free). It is much nicer than any other dvr I've ever used. Plus you still get all the benefits of a computer: netflix, hulu, youtube, etc.

However, if you're not too good with computers or don't already have one you could use for this purpose I would probably just stick with what others have suggested.
