Lmaoooo at the ppl complaining about the prez speaking to the ppl. The horror of keeping one of the most powerful ppl in the world safe and protected yet accessible to voters and citizens...dam democracy...

Pretty much every little 3rd grader know that when high power political people travel roads are shut down, air space is restricted, and everybody is eyeballed by undercover ss agents...

... and your point is?

Again, I'm just looking at the irony. If you had your own business, you'd be bugged, too. Seems the government is always holding me up while I'm trying to grow my business.

Speaking of Bush, when he was President they shut down between DC and Quantico for the grand opening of the Marine Corps Museum so he could convoy there. This is more ludicrous when you consider the Presidents helicopter hangared across the street from the museum. I bet that had a much larger impact than closing 40.

If that's correct, I would 100% agree.

Turns out the president did use his Helicopters the HOV lanes were clsoed from all of the rest of the attendees. I remember traffic being pretty bad this day regardless.

Today, Biden impacted me more than the Pres. did yesterday. Go figure! 40 was closed for a bit & DH had to circle RDU for 20 mins b/c he arrived just as Biden was getting here.

:-)

and that didn't hit page 1! or 2...maybe tomorrow's paper??

I think the President should get a rental car and drive himself to his little rallies while dodging people talking on their cell phones all the time or gawking at fender benders. That will put him in touch with the people.

Was there a route published beforehand?
According to WRAL on Wednesday morning, the exact route was not being published.

I agree, today was worse since the VP schedule isn't made public. We knew about yesterday's visit days in advance, plenty of time to know to check the specific schedule the day before. I came within minutes of being stuck in roadblocks on 540, aviation, and airport today.

I work on the 4th floor of an office a mile from the airport and to see Air Force One and Air Force Two on back-to-back days was neat. I'll keep my carpool comments to myself...

speaking of which - and I think this pertains to another thread re: where are all the cars at RDU -- but I saw 3 car carriers pulling into RDU hertz today with NEW CARs at the airport. hahha!
