I would say: 1) make sure you apply EARLY--get the SSS done (it's a pretty standard independent school form and can be used at many schools); you'll need your tax info and it will take some time--it's pretty long. Get that done as soon as possible. Apply early. We applied late and all the aid had been distributed already.
As impressed as we were overall with the school, it's become our understanding that it's a real pressure-cooker for kids--parent send their kids with the expectation--not hope--that they will go to the best colleges/universities, and kids are pressured and pressure each other in a highly competitive environment. I think that's great, just not for our child, who already puts enough pressure on herself for a dozen kids.
