This is totally unrelated to town names but it seems a lot of people pronounce realtor "ree-la-ter" rather than "ree-al-ter". Is that a NC thing? I'd never heard that pronunciation before.

Cherryville depending on how deep the dialect is either pronounced Chur vul or chur uh vul

Then there is Beaufort and I always mess this one up Beaufort NC and Beaufort SC have total different pronounciations

That last one is easy... Bow-fort is the correct way. They say Byoo-fort in that other state.
