Last year we volunteered at the Durham Rescue Mission; they had so many volunteers that we would like to find another group that would benefit from help this year.
Any suggestions other than the large rescue groups? thanks so much.
I've heard that too, and we do, but we'd love the chance to do it as a family on Thanksgiving as well especially since this year we don't really have any plans.
thinking it would be nice to host some local college students who are "orphans' these special holidays and have them over for dinner.
How would you suggest I go about finding students that needs some TLC during Thanksgiving? I know they're out there.
Thanks.
How about international students? You could probably find them through the International Students department of the local universities. Local churches might also know of people needing someplace to go on Thanksgiving.
Ha! I was just going to come on and say "go sign on at Activate Good". They run a great organization and it is wonderful way to keep up with volunteer opportunities, find ones that meet your "gifts" and, maybe, to meet other people when you volunteer with others.
