Now that there is a liberal majority on the Wake County School Board, do you think the school board should replace Superintendent Tony Tata?

If you were a member of the board, would you?

I don't actually think the majority is really that liberal and don't see why they would fire him right now. They call the shots and make the policies, he needs to implement it. That's his job. If he can't do his job, then replacing him is a valid option, but they at least need to spend some time together before coming to such decisions.

Why would anyone get fired because of internal politics? Let the man do his job.......... Left, right, north, south, whatever side he's on he's there for a reason ya?

Exactly. Hill for instance is all about the metrics and testing, which was one of the big draws for Tata (he was one of Michelle Rhee's lackeys in DC before coming to Wake).

I would love to see what he's going to do. Real progress is made when people with different views work together. I wish all of this extreme partisanship would go away (locally and nationally) ...everyone should put of their big girl panties and work it out.

It really seemed like Tata reigned in the just past board and did a much better job than I thought. He seems like a really good superintendent to me no matter what the leanings of the board.

No.

And I don't beleive the BOE or its individual members have any plans to replace him.

Why? On what grounds would they fire him anyway?
He has surpassed expectations and was liked by both sides of the board. I think he will do what the new majority asks him to since his role is to implement their ideas and policies. He is not the decision maker here.

Absolutely not. Let's now see how the new board tries to sort things out.
