Hello, I just moved to Raleigh, am in my 20s, and am looking to find fun stuff to do in the area as well as meet new people. Back home, I really used to enjoy going to a local country bar where they had linedancing every Wednesday from 8-11 and I got to meet alot of people -and stayed in shape in the process

I was wondering if anyone could tell me if there is something similar to that in Raleigh, Durham, Cary, or the surrounding areas? I was able to find an organized line-dancing class held in Durham, but am looking for something a little less formal in an atmosphere where you can eat, drink, dance, or not dance, etc.

Thanks in advance!

-Krystal

Town of Cary has drop-in line dancing on Tuesdays, I think it is. Give them a call.

You can't eat here - but it is informal, it is international line-dancing, and people are wonderful.

Welcome: Raleigh International Folk Dancers

They also seem to know of all dancing-related activities around here - if you are not satisfied with this group you might get a lead on where to find what you are looking for.

I think this is the place for you. It's in downtown Raleigh and a place to party. They have line dancing and bull riding on Fridays and other events on other nights. Website is hellyeahraleigh.com

(I went to a similar type of bar in Manhattan in June. What a riot.)

how about the Longbranch? They used to have classes on a Sunday night under the previous owners. Not sure if they do now. www.longbranchraleigh.com
