Anyone remember dancing the night away at the Longbranch, or any local club for that matter and then eating at Ho Jo's on North Blvd? I loved that place and ate many meals there after 2am. I knew the bartenders in that little back bar area and would sometimes stay in there for hours playing the jukebox and drinking with friends and meeting new ones. How about the old Mountain Jacks which was basically right beside it? They had a nice bar downstairs with a small dance floor. It had lots of brass decorations.
Sure... I ate a lot of late night meals at Howard Johnson's in the 70's. I was usually coming back from dancing the night away at PJC Disco though a little further out on Capitol.

Yep for me it was the very early 1980's
If memory serves me correctly the Longbranch opened in 1980 or 81. It was a small little honky tonk from what it became in its heyday. I was there opening night and I had one of the first 50 membership cards. I sure wish I had kept that card! It was brown with a gold star in the middle if I remember that correctly! I can remember standing in line waiting to get inside with a couple friends that night. Once inside we realized just how small it was. You couldn't tell from outside the building how small it really was. I wish I could remember half the ladies I met there back in the day!
Man I had totally forgotten about Longbranch. I'm guessing it's no longer around.
