A couple of years back there was a guy in Apex who took donations of used bikes and fixed them up for Xmas to give to kids. I had donated my son's old bike to him but I lost the contact information. I'd like to donate my daughter's old bike (since she is getting a new one at Xmas). Anyone know where in the Cary/Apex/Holly Springs area I can donate the bike?

Thanks!

I would be interested to know this as well. My parents still have my old bike and it's certainly doing no good sitting in their garage.

Guardian Angel in Fuquay will take the bikes and the money they sell for is donated to Alzheimer's research.

Yep. If you have trouble contacting them, post again, but I think contact info is listed in this article.

Durham Bike Co-op would probably take them.

If you are interested in donating kids or adult bikes, send me a PM and I'll provide the contact info. A volunteer will pick up the bike from a convenient location, or can also pick up the bikes from your house (you don't need to home, just leave the bikes outside). The bikes get refurbished and donated to kids and adults in need. Volunteers meet once a month in Apex to refurbish the bikes.
