We usually stay home for New Year's, but this year I think I might check out Raleigh "First Night".

Home - First Night Raleigh

If you are headed out, where are you going?

We'd like to go out for a nice dinner with my brother and sister-in-law. Because the idea came yesterday we're still trying to decide where (meaning I'm up for suggestions).

Heading down to North Myrtle early Saturday morning with dinner reservations. Will be bringing in the New Year later with Anderson Cooper and Kathy Griffin

we usually load up the kids and head downtown with another couple and their kids. I believe our tradition is the El Rodeo in City market, then the kids' acorn drop, then head home shortly after, put them to bed, and watch the ball drop on TV.

Hard to believe it's already been a year for Dick Clark.

THis is my first New Year in Raleigh and we are going to First Night. We used to go to First Night in our small city in NY and we always saw such a neat mix of performers. Since it is family friendly we didn't encounter a lot of drunks.

We'll go over around 3ish, see some shows, grab dinner somewhere and come home when we've had enough.

It's our first nye in Raleigh and I think we will go to first night since we've got two young kiddos. It sounds like a good time.

at least the city is trying, and this year they're bringing in the French theme with a huge ferris wheel on Fayetteville St.

it's better than nothing.....and beats staying at home watching the apple drop in NYC where we don't even live.
